This is one of the quarterfinal debates held that the annual Yale Intervarsity debating competition on their campus in New Haven, Connecticut.
The motion:
This house believes the world should prefer a nuclear armed Iran to a preemptive US military strike.
The teams:
Opening Government: Loyola Marymount University/Boston College Swing
Opening Opposition: The University of Vermont
Closing Government: Brown University
Closing Opposition: Stanford University
The debate lasts about an hour. None of the speakers are representing positions they actually believe. In a debate competition, positions are assigned to the speakers at random. Please do not conflate the arguments made by individuals in this video with their real-world opinions on the matters discussed.
